Donaldson is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Manufacturing Operations team. This unique position involves close collaboration with our financial planning and accounting teams. Your primary responsibility will be managing government contracts, along with some costing-related tasks. This role is hybrid but will be based out of our Bloomington, MN office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in accounting, finance, business or related field
  • 4+ years' experience in general/ cost accounting
  • 1+ years' experience with Standard Cost and Cost Accounting in a global manufacturing setting
  • Experience with Oracle or other ERP system
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency with Excel
  • Must be a US citizen

  • Management and/or customer facing experience (DCMA/DCAA)
  • Understanding of U.S. GAAP, FAR, and DFAR as it applies to a manufacturing environment
  • Collaborative worker and analytical thinker; deadline orientated
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Aerospace and Defense management team to ensure government contract compliance with detailed financial analysis, audit support, and other projects.
  • Analyze and compile historical data, build cost models and assist in the development of cost estimates to support A&D business.
  • Participate in fact-finding meetings and pricing reviews with management, the customer, DCAA, and DCMA.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives related to government audits and pricing proposals.
  • Partner with Operations FP&A and Corporate Cost Accounting teams for understanding how manufacturing rates are established and overall product cost structure.
  • Assist with month end and year end closing activities.
