About The Position

The Senior Accountant reports to the Senior Manager - Financial Reporting and works collaboratively across the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close process to leverage prior public accounting experience to support the financial reporting processes for publicly issued financial statements. The Accountant - Financial Reporting is primarily responsible for completing the Company's consolidation process, producing internal and external financial reporting packages, including supporting schedules, tie-out support, GAAP checklists, footnotes, and also applies critical analysis of changes in account balances; assists in project implementations; supports quarterly reviews, the year-end audit, and the Company's SOX compliance.

Requirements

  • BS in Accounting
  • CPA required
  • Minimum of 1 year of financial reporting or public accounting experience required for Staff Accountant - Financial Reporting
  • Staff Accountant - Financial Reporting, qualified and working toward CPA license required
  • Minimum of 2 years of financial reporting or public accounting experience required for Senior Accountant - Financial Reporting
  • Senior Accountant - Financial Reporting, CPA license required
  • Experience working at a Big 4 public accounting firm, middle tier firm, or publicly traded company required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with computer-based accounting systems, Yardi and Workiva is a plus
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Excel, including V-lookups, functions, and pivot tables required
  • Knowledge of US GAAP, accounting procedures, and internal controls as they relate to a SOX compliant environment
  • Experience preparing financial statements, including statement of cash flows, and creating variance analyses required

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the Company's SEC reporting on Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, Proxy and other ad hoc filings, including preparation of financial statements, footnotes, auditable support and analysis including the calculation and reconciliation of non-GAAP performance measures and earnings per share.
  • Work closely with our Finance and Investor Relations teams on ad-hoc reporting and Investor materials.
  • Monitor new accounting pronouncements and accounting policy developments and support implementation efforts including required disclosures and senior management education.
  • Assist with research and preparation of technical accounting treatment memos, testing, and support.
  • Assist with preparation of corporate accounting journal entries and account reconciliations, and preparation of various rollforward schedules, including but not limited to debt rollforward, PPE rollforward and equity rollforward.
  • Coordinates with external and internal partners to provide appropriate support for financial statement amounts, disclosures and accounting treatments.
  • Perform ongoing SOX compliance requirements.
  • Support and adhere to strong internal control policies and procedures, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Liaise with external and internal auditors.
  • Support consolidated financial audits and statutory audits, including preparation of PBC items.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining accounting policies, best practices and procedures.
  • Perform special projects and ad-hoc financial reporting as required.
