About The Position

Brilliant Financial Staffing has been engaged in the search for a Senior Accountant with our client located in Plymouth, MN. Our client is a large organization who specializes in providing a wide variety of cloud based communications solutions to their customers. They currently are looking for a Senior Accountant to join their organization on an open-ended contract position, but at minimum would last 3-4 months. This Senior Accountant would be responsible for general ledger and financial statement management. The Senior Accountant would be reporting directly to the Sr. Director of Accounting and would ideally be able to interview and start shortly after.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• 5+ years of related experience
• Advanced Excel, need knowledge of Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP's
• Great Plains System Experience is HIGHLY PREFERRED

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries utilizing data in financial systems and other sources of information
• Collaborate with colleagues to secure information and resolve issues, including partnering with other groups (e.g., Accounts payable, Marketing, Engineering and Operations, FP&A, and Information Technology) as it relates to the preparation of accurate financial statements
• Assist with preparation of and timely reporting of ad hoc reporting requirements; including management, tax, investor, and reporting requests
• Assist with the accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
• Provide data and analysis to internal customers, management, and auditors
• Assemble monthly intracompany activity and prepare appropriate adjusting journal entries
• Ensure all income statement and balance sheet items are recorded in a timely and accurate manner
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations
• Review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and explain variances to historical periods and forecast as applicable
