About The Position

This position supports the Vice President, Accounting Manager in the fiscal and operational needs of the department and the Organization as a whole. Senior Accountant duties also include ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all accounting tasks.

Requirements

  • Sage Intacct accounting software experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years accounting experience, with 2-plus years in non-profit accounting required.
  • Able to manage multiple projects at once with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Thorough and in-depth knowledge of basic accounting procedures and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close process.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Advanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and standards, with a demonstrated ability to interpret and apply relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to work with complex financial data.
  • Effective communication and people skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • An elevated level of integrity and a strong commitment to the organization's mission and values.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the timely and accurate completion of all financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with the finance and accounting team to develop and implement effective financial policies and procedures that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of the organization's forecasting, providing valuable insights and guidance to the finance team and senior management.
  • Monitor compliance with all regulatory requirements and ensure adherence to relevant accounting standards and guidelines specific to non-profit organizations.
  • Analyze financial information and reports findings to leadership.
  • Assist in monthly forecast of revenue and cash collections.
  • Ensures revenue recognition is in accordance with executed MOU agreements.
  • Assist with annual internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
  • Supports month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile cost allocations.
  • Prepare monthly general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure financial transparency and accuracy.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
