About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Accountant based at our corporate headquarters in Raleigh, NC. Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Accounting, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for various aspects of the month-end close process and assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and schedules.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience; Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience with CPA/master's degree.
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Must be a self-starter and a quick learner who can work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Excel; JD Edwards skills desirable.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with an ability to identify and resolve problems both independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent people skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational and time management ability.
  • Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on capacity.

Responsibilities

  • Heavily involved in the month-end close process.
  • Preparation and maintenance of monthly accruals and allocations across multiple divisions.
  • Preparing various financial statements and schedules for inclusion in the Company's public filings.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements and analysis.
  • Ad-hoc reporting and analysis.
  • Support of corporate accounting initiatives and projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budget and forecasts for select corporate business units.
  • Preparation of account reconciliations.
  • Responsible for lease accounting of the corporation
  • Lead the recording, analysis and reporting of ASC 842 leases including but not limited to:
  • Approval of lease additions, disposals and modifications
  • Preparation of quarterly lease analytics
  • Preparation of lease roll forwards and lease integrity reports
  • Preparation of commencement, disposal and modification entries including amortization schedules
  • Evaluating and recommending innovative approaches and procedures that result in process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.
  • Work closely with internal and external auditors.
  • Assist in maintaining the integrity of the company's chart of accounts and business unit structure.
  • Document and maintain accounting procedures and processes.
