About The Position

We are looking for a collaborative, detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing Accounting team. This role will support our continued business expansion and be responsible for executing core accounting tasks, driving process improvements, and contributing to system implementations. This individual will work cross-functionally across the business and serve as a partner to Finance, Legal, Client Services, and Operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong accounting foundation, an interest in systems and automation, and a proactive mindset to help scale our accounting infrastructure. Requirements

  • Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and follow-through
  • Analytical thinker who is energized by process improvements and automation
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally and building relationships across departments
  • Strong communicator with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-finance audiences
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Curious, adaptable, and always looking for ways to improve how things are done
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, index match, x lookup, data validation)
  • BS/BA in Accounting or Finance
  • 2+ years of hands-on accounting experience, including journal entries and reconciliations
  • Experience working in a team environment across multiple functions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex accounting topics into business language
  • Ability to independently manage multiple tasks and projects under deadlines
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and continuous improvement orientation

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with tools like Power BI or Qualtrics is a big plus
  • Experience working within ERP system or related business platforms (i.e. Netsuite, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics)

Responsibilities

  • Execute monthly close processes, including journal entries, invoicing, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Prepare supporting schedules for financial reporting and audit readiness
  • Perform detailed review of revenue and cost transactions for accuracy and completeness
  • Partner with Client Services to ensure accurate, timely billing and revenue recognition
  • Work with Business Operations and external vendors to ensure completeness of financial inputs
  • Help evaluate and implement new tools and technologies that improve accuracy and efficiency
  • Contribute to ERP and system optimization projects
  • Support ongoing development of accounting policies and standard operating procedures
  • Assist with evaluating the reporting impact of new accounting standards
  • Participate in special projects, including system implementations and scaling initiatives
  • Identify gaps in current workflows and recommend scalable improvements
  • Maintain a high standard of confidentiality and internal controls
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and Momentum’s internal accounting policies
  • Contribute to audit preparations and external reporting requests
