About The Position

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing and overseeing the daily accounting operations for a fast-paced personal care contract manufacturing environment. This position will ensure accuracy in financial reporting, compliance with GAAP, and alignment with internal controls while supporting operational decision-making. The Senior Accountant will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Production, Supply Chain, and Quality—to ensure accurate cost tracking, timely month-end close, and effective financial analysis that supports the company’s growth and profitability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing environment (personal care, cosmetics, or consumer goods experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and inventory management.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-department collaboration.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Assist in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Maintain compliance with internal controls, corporate policies, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Support annual audits by preparing schedules, providing documentation, and liaising with external auditors.
  • Analyze manufacturing costs, variances, and production data to ensure accurate product costing and margin analysis.
  • Partner with Operations and Supply Chain teams to monitor inventory levels, perform cycle counts, and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Maintain and reconcile standard cost models for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
  • Prepare cost analysis to support pricing strategies, new product launches, and make/buy decisions.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness in financial operations.
  • Provide financial insights and analysis to management to aid in decision-making.
  • Support ERP system enhancements and ensure data integrity within financial modules.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities, providing variance analysis and recommendations.
