About The Position

JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting for Heidelberg Engineering Inc. This individual will bring extensive Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365) expertise to streamline processes, improve reporting efficiency, and support ongoing system optimization. The role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines. Prepare, review, and post complex journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations. Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal accounting policies. Oversee fixed asset accounting, prepaid expenses, intercompany transactions, and revenue recognition. Lead financial reporting within D365 , including general ledger maintenance, sub-ledger integration, and system reconciliations. Develop and implement D365-based reporting tools and dashboards to improve visibility and support decision-making. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, operations, HR, and global finance teams) to ensure proper accounting treatment of business transactions. Provide technical accounting support and guidance during audits (internal and external). Drive continuous process improvements in accounting workflows leveraging D365 automation and advanced features . Mentor junior accounting staff and provide subject matter expertise on D365 functionality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
  • Minimum 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience , preferably in a capital equipment or medical device environment.
  • Extensive, hands-on expertise with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365) – including system configuration, reporting, reconciliations, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting best practices.
  • Experience in audit support, process documentation, and internal control compliance (SOX experience a plus).
  • Advanced Excel and strong analytical/reporting skills (Power BI experience desirable).
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to collaborate effectively across departments.
