About The Position

The Senior Accountant is responsible for leading key accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of all financial reporting. This role supports month-end close, technical accounting, audits, and internal controls. The Senior Accountant acts as a subject-matter expert on compliance, applying strong GAAP knowledge and regulatory awareness to maintain high-quality financial standards. We are a fast-moving, high-growth organization, and this position requires someone who is proactive, adaptable, and ready to roll up their sleeves to perform with limited guidance while managing tight deadlines and shifting priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in both operational and technical accounting environments.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, full-cycle accounting, and month-end close processes.
  • Hands-on experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data models) and experience with QuickBooks Online, Xero, or similar ERP system.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA highly desired (active or in progress).
  • Familiarity with dashboards and KPI reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).

Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Ensure all accounting practices and documentation meet compliance standards, internal control requirements, and audit expectations.
  • Maintain and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and ensure ongoing compliance with applicable financial laws and standards.
  • Manage complex general ledger activities, including accruals, revenue recognition, amortization, and intercompany transactions.
  • Perform and review account reconciliations to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Research, analyze, and document technical accounting issues, implementing solutions as needed.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors.
  • Prepare audit schedules, supporting documentation, and respond to audit inquiries.
  • Lead internal audit readiness activities and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
  • Identify areas for process enhancement and drive continuous improvement efforts in accounting workflows.
  • Support system implementations, upgrades, or integrations related to financial operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Operations, HR) to ensure accurate financial data and reporting.
  • Support budget development, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
