About The Position

UFC seeks a motivated, experienced Senior Accountant to join our Accounting team. The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker with at least three years of experience and strong analytical and problem-solving skills. This position will involve a mix of month-end close functions, business support and financial reporting responsibilities. Maintains accounting data in accordance with department policy and procedures as well as Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP). Perform monthly closing activities, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations and reports for assigned segments of business. Facilitates the auditing process by providing details, schedules, and information for assigned areas as requested by the auditors. Prepare monthly reports for management and business partners. Present financial results to management. Responsible for maintaining effective system of controls, procedures, and documentation for assigned segments of business. Review and streamline/improve existing processes. Seeks continual growth and expertise in the accounting and finance function and embrace cross-training opportunities provided within the Accounting and Finance Department. Potential of assisting with event work. Ad hoc assignments and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in finance and/or accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of standard accounting practices and experience with accounting systems.
  • Critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to departmental and company changes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form.
  • High degree of proficiency with data entry functions.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidential information.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook and ability to learn other basic computer programs.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced coursework in finance preferred.
