About The Position

About the Role Employee Benefits Corporation is hiring for a Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant role blends strong technical expertise with a forward-thinking, analytical approach. It goes beyond traditional accounting by leveraging technology, streamlining processes, and developing creative solutions to complex challenges. As a member of the Accounting team, the Senior Accountant develops financial statements and reports, maintains complex system reconciliations, and ensures the integrity and accuracy of financial information. This role also drives process improvements, enhances efficiency and collaborates closely with team members to ensure all accounting deadlines are met. Location A hybrid schedule is expected in this role with 1-2 days per week onsite at our Middleton, WI office and the remaining days either onsite or remote from your home office. What You’ll Do Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP Develop and maintain financial reporting in Sage Intelligence, including financial statements, product costing and metrics Perform monthly GL reviews and variance analysis to support business decisions Assist with Budget preparation, collaborating with multiple departments to gather inputs and ensure accuracy Prepare and post complex journal entries and support key components of the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial results Prepare complex daily and monthly system account reconciliations with attention to detail, including issue research and resolution What You Bring Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or related field Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience in corporate or public accounting CPA Designation Demonstrated understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify trends, variances, and anomalies Previous experience working with ERP systems Intermediate to advanced Excel skills Proven ability to think strategically, adapt to change, and propose innovative solutions Strong analytical, organizational, and oral and written communication skills Proven success managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, high paced environment Possession of a driver’s license or access to reliable transportation Ideally, you may also have experience with Sage 100 ERP and automation tools and working with COBRA and tax advantaged benefit plans Why EBC A welcoming, collaborative team culture where every voice matters Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits, including employee ownership A culture built on clarity, empathy, and continuous improvement Continuous learning and career development to help you grow as we invest in future-ready solutions and seamless user experiences Flexible work options designed to support a healthy work-life balance How to Apply Ready to make an impact? Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience in corporate or public accounting
  • CPA Designation
  • Demonstrated understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify trends, variances, and anomalies
  • Previous experience working with ERP systems
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Proven ability to think strategically, adapt to change, and propose innovative solutions
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and oral and written communication skills
  • Proven success managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, high paced environment
  • Possession of a driver’s license or access to reliable transportation
