Learn more at: Avathon We’re looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team and take ownership of key accounting functions. This role is ideal for someone with a strong accounting background who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to contribute to a growing organization.

Requirements

  • 7-10+ years of accounting experience, including experience applying ASC 606 revenue recognition principles.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and technical accounting concepts.
  • Experience working with general ledger systems and financial reporting tools.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong analytical capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or equivalent certification preferred
  • Experience with Sage Intacct, Concur, and Tipalti preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal policies, and established internal controls.
  • Apply ASC 606 revenue recognition principles, including reviewing customer contracts, identifying performance obligations, supporting revenue schedules, and ensuring accurate and timely revenue reporting.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, balance sheets, and profit and loss reports to support management decision-making and financial transparency.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Maintain general ledger accounts and supporting documentation, ensuring accuracy and audit readiness while supporting external audit and tax preparation processes.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Program Management, Sales, Legal, and Finance teams to ensure accurate contract interpretation, billing alignment, and consistent application of revenue recognition policies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, enhance documentation, and strengthen internal controls to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
