About The Position

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, and support for budget planning. This role requires strong accounting and analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with leadership, plant management, and external auditors. The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Controller and support initiatives for financial planning, operational efficiency, and compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Experience with Quickbooks, Microsoft Excel, and financial reporting tools. Proficiency with ERP systems is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team.
  • Excellent communication skills, in person and online

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and ensure the accuracy of general ledger accounts and reconcile account balances monthly.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and adjustments for month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company accounting policies.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
  • Collaborate with operational managers to ensure alignment of departmental budgets with overall company objectives.
  • Track and analyze budget-to-actual variances and provide actionable insights to senior management.
  • Analyze production costs and link operational metrics to financial performance.
  • Weekly job cost tracking
  • Conduct cost variance analysis, including material, labor, and overhead variances.
  • Support operational efficiency initiatives by working with plant operations to drive cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with internal control procedures and policies to mitigate financial risks.
  • Support internal and external audits, including coordination with auditors and preparation of audit deliverables.
  • Participate in ongoing reviews and audits of internal control procedures.
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions to ensure proper coding, timely payments, and accurate postings.
  • Support cash flow forecasting and collection efforts to ensure timely receipt of payments.
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reports as requested by plant managers, divisional leadership, and the Controller.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, production, and procurement, to ensure alignment on financial goals.
