About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join the accounting and finance team of a well-established organization located in downtown Houston . This role offers the opportunity to contribute in a more advanced capacity within a complex operating environment, supporting both accounting operations and financial analysis for a business with approximately $400M in annual revenue. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in month-end close, financial reporting, and cross-functional collaboration, working closely with experienced leadership in a fully onsite, team-oriented environment. This position is ideal for candidates seeking to apply their accounting expertise while gaining broader exposure to finance in a structured, professional environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Progressive accounting experience in public accounting and/or industry
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute month-end close activities, including complex journal entries and account reconciliations
• Prepare and review balance sheet and income statement reconciliations
• Support internal and external financial reporting requirements
• Assist with audit preparation and respond to audit inquiries
• Partner with finance and operational teams on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Identify process improvement opportunities and support system enhancements
• Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff as needed
