About The Position

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of the company’s general ledger and accounts payable functions. This position requires a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, government accounting standards (FAR, CAS), and experience working in a DCAA-compliant environment. The ideal candidate will bring both hands-on technical expertise and a strategic mindset to support month-end close, audit readiness, and accounts payable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • 4+ years of accounting experience, managerial experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, FAR, CAS, and indirect rate structures.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large datasets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong relationship skills.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA a plus
  • Knowledge of Deltek Costpoint accounting software.
  • Experience with financial audits and DCAA compliance.
  • Government contracting experience.
  • Public accounting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with full-cycle general ledger accounting functions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closes.
  • Create schedules, account reconciliations and journal entries for accounting areas including debt issuances, leasing arrangements, prepaids, goodwill, intangibles, and other items as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, FAR, and CAS regulations.
  • Assist in the implementation of new accounting standards as applicable
  • Own expense reporting process including reconciliations, review of vouchers, payment processing, and corrections.
  • Serve as a backup to the accounts payable function, as needed.
  • Support external audits, including financial, DCAA, and internal control reviews.
  • Participate in system upgrades and process improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct account research and handle ad-hoc accounting, reporting, and administrative tasks as necessary.
  • Recommend and implement best practices to optimize efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
  • Collaborate accross the organization to ensure accurate accounting and to resolve issues and discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Promote a positive team environment through all relationshipsto ensure optimal performance and professional growth.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching to enhance team skills.
  • Perform other duties as required.
