About The Position

Senior Accountant Our team at AMFS, LLC, a Safe Fleet brand, is seeking a Senior Accountant responsible for ensuring the smooth running of a finance and accounting department. This individual must combine their responsibilities with day-to-day accounting duties, such as data input and reporting.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and month-end close
  • Ability to develop relationships with individuals at all levels, including customers, vendors, and other employees
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally through various mediums, including phone, e-mail and formal written communication
  • Analytical skills, including the ability to identify inaccuracies or discrepancies
  • Problem-solving and innovation skills, including the ability to analyze, interpret, understand, and successfully resolve issues within the company's best interests.
  • A high level of proficiency in Excel
  • Professionalism with consistent ability to balance urgency and decisiveness with patience and compassion
  • Discretion in managing proprietary information belonging to the company

Nice To Haves

  • NetSuite experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Month-end close and other Monthly duties
  • Lead the month-end close process, ensuring that journal entries, closing activities, analysis, and reports are accurate and on time
  • Prepare Journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations, including reconciling the cash accounts, to ensure the financial statements' accuracy
  • Analyze performance vs budget and report the variances with causal analysis
  • Prepare the monthly financial reporting package, including analysis and commentary on the monthly results
  • Develop new analyses and reports as needed to help explain financial results
  • Analyze and report on sales channel and product line sales and profitability
  • Lead the annual budget and quarterly forecast process.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis to the General Manager as needed.
  • Apply a working knowledge of applicable accounting practices and regulations; verify documents for completeness and compliance
  • Maintain periodic cross-training to support as backup for AR and AP positions and help manage these functions
  • Review processes, recommend improvements to streamline where possible and create new processes where needed
  • Assist in internal and external audits
  • Manage fixed assets and capital spend
  • Assist with special projects as requested
  • Support other Business Unit’s as needed
