About The Position

We are seeking an experienced, detail‑driven Senior Accountant to support the financial operations of our commercial construction division. This role plays a key part in ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness across monthly financials, WIP reporting, and key accounting processes. The ideal candidate is analytical, dependable, and proactive — someone who enjoys working collaboratively while owning their work with pride.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
5+ years of accounting experience (construction industry experience or internships a plus).
Strong experience with general ledger processing and preparing/reviewing financial statements.
Prior experience with WIP schedules required.
Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks, CMIC, or similar).
Solid understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles.
Extremely detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Excellent communication skills and a team‑focused mindset.

Responsibilities

Prepare and enter monthly journal entries.
Review journal entries submitted by project accountants.
Lead and execute month‑end close activities.
Manage fixed asset purchases, leases, and disposals.
Prepare monthly WIP schedules and allocation worksheets.
Partner with project leaders and department managers to ensure financial accuracy.
Generate reports and analysis for internal teams as needed.
Support audits and compliance reviews by preparing schedules and documentation.
Maintain well‑organized financial records and documentation.
Contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
