About The Position

As a Senior Accountant, you play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial operations. Your day blends transaction processing, account reconciliation, payroll support, and cross-functional coordination with internal departments and external vendors. You record and review financial activity, prepare reports, reconcile accounts, and communicate with stakeholders to resolve discrepancies. From monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations to supporting audits and tax filings, you help ensure financial data remains accurate, complete, and aligned with company policies in a fast-paced aerospace and defense environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • 8 or more years of accounting experience.
  • Basic computer skills with knowledge of accounting software.
  • Exceptional time management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to accurately and efficiently analyze financial data.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of or experience with the UNANET accounting system is desired.
  • Experience with government accounting is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Verify & Record Financial Transactions: Utilize supporting documentation to verify, record, and process financial transactions in accordance with company procedures.
  • Support Payroll Processing: Assist with biweekly payroll processing, including printing paychecks and initiating direct deposits for employees.
  • Generate Financial Reports: Prepare financial reports as requested by management or other departments to support operational and reporting needs.
  • Maintain Financial Records: Maintain accurate and complete accounting records, including ledgers, journals, invoices, receipts, and information related to supplies and inventory.
  • Perform Account Reconciliations: Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts on a monthly basis and research discrepancies as needed.
  • Support Accounting Close Activities: Assist with daily, monthly, and annual accounting activities, including Accounts Payable (A/P), expense reports, audit support, tax filings, and discrepancy resolution.
  • Communicate with Vendors & Suppliers: Partner with vendors and suppliers to ensure charges are accurate and payments are received in a timely manner.
  • Manage Accounts Receivable: Prepare customer invoices (A/R) and communicate account statuses, charges, or discrepancies with appropriate internal and external parties.
  • Provide Departmental Support: Perform additional accounting duties as assigned or required.
