About The Position

The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the Company’s general accounting functions with a focus on accurate financial reporting, cost accounting, internal controls, and compliance with U.S. GAAP. This role plays a key part in the monthly close process, manufacturing cost analysis, and preparation of schedules supporting SEC reporting, audits, and management review. Experience in a manufacturing or construction environment is strongly preferred.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
  • 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Experience with inventory and cost accounting in a manufacturing environment
  • ERP experience (Sage MAS 500 or similar manufacturing ERP preferred)
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
  • Experience working with external auditors
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced close environment
  • Effective communicator with operations, finance, and leadership teams
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or CPA-eligible preferred
  • Manufacturing, construction, or project-based accounting experience strongly preferred
  • Public company or SEC reporting experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process
  • Ensure accurate recording of revenue, inventory, cost of goods sold, and accruals
  • Maintain balance sheet integrity and resolve variances timely
  • Support inventory accounting for raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods
  • Assist with standard cost updates, variance analysis, and inventory reserves
  • Analyze production costs, labor, overhead absorption, and job-level profitability
  • Collaborate with operations and production teams to understand cost drivers
  • Prepare schedules supporting quarterly and annual SEC filings (Form 10-Q, 10-K)
  • Assist with compliance under U.S. GAAP, including revenue recognition, inventory, leases, and asset accounting
  • Support internal control documentation and SOX-related processes
  • Assist with external audits and respond to auditor requests (BDO or other audit firm)
  • Assist with fixed asset accounting, depreciation, and capital project tracking
  • Support cash, debt, and covenant reporting schedules
  • Assist with sales and use tax filings and other regulatory reporting as needed
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
