About The Position

Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to support financial planning, budgeting, and reporting processes while contributing to core accounting functions and month-end close. This role provides insight into financial performance, identifies opportunities for improvement, and helps enhance reporting and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and able to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred
3+ years of relevant accounting experience
Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Flexible and able to work additional hours as needed
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team

Avalara experience preferred

Responsibilities

Support budgeting and financial planning processes; monitor performance against budget
Maintain the general ledger and prepare journal entries
Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
Prepare and review account reconciliations
Manage sales tax processes, including journal entries and filings (Avalara experience preferred)
Maintain fixed asset schedules and related accounting
Perform lease accounting under ASC 842
Support vehicle fleet accounting, including reporting and journal entries
Analyze expenses versus budget and provide insights
Develop and maintain financial reports and assist with report creation
Assist with preparation and review of financial statements and management reports
Support audit processes and year-end activities
Cross-train and assist with other accounting functions as needed
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies
