We are recruiting for a Senior Accountant to join an engineering firm with a strong national presence, expanding due to current growth. The newly created Senior Accountant position will play a crucial role in month-end financial reporting, managing reconciliations, and overseeing both AP and AR processes. Compensation: Up to $100,000 DOE. 100% onsite with potential to go hybrid. The qualified candidate will have strong technical accounting expertise, experience in project and cost accounting, and proficiency with NetSuite ERP.

Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate posting of all journal entries.
Reconcile all balance sheet accounts, including cash and investments, to maintain accurate financial records.
Ensure proper revenue recognition, expense recording, and accruals in compliance with company policies.
Maintain the general ledger and perform account reconciliations to ensure financial integrity.
Prepare and post journal entries, including recurring, adjusting, and reversing entries.
Analyze and resolve discrepancies, recommending process improvements as needed.
Utilize NetSuite to manage accounting transactions, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Support audits by preparing schedules, responding to auditor inquiries, and maintaining organized documentation.
Oversee accounts payable (AP), including invoice processing, vendor payments, and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Manage vendor payment processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments while verifying contract compliance and resolving discrepancies.
Provide support for accounts receivable (AR), including customer invoicing, payment applications, account reconciliations, and monitoring aging reports.
Follow up on outstanding balances and assist in resolving billing or payment discrepancies while maintaining customer relationships.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and procurement, to ensure alignment and accuracy of financial data.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field (required).
4–6 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a Senior Accountant or similar role.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, revenue recognition, and financial reporting.
Hands-on experience with NetSuite ERP is required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUP and pivot tables); familiarity with other accounting software is a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to think strategically.

Experience with project-based accounting is preferred.
