About The Position

Molekule is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our diverse team. You will be reporting to the CFO, working closely with other memebers of our accounting staff and cross functionally, to undertake or lead aspects of the accounting function. Depending on experience and performance, this position could become an Assistant Controller. Your work will directly enable the Molekule team to continue to build, launch, sell, and support new products that deeply impact human health and well-being across the world (starting with the air we breathe).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, with 4+ years combined public and corporate accounting experience.
  • Exceptional accounting skills with a strong understanding of US GAAP and internal controls.
  • Deep experience with NetSuite ERP, or another large ERP, experience migrating from one ERP to another.
  • Significant hands-on process, controls and disbursements experience.
  • Desire to “grow with the business”, think strategically as well as tactically, and seek new challenges.
  • Proven history of exhibiting a professional and systems-based mindset in a highly visionary and creative environment.
  • Advanced Excel knowledge and fluency in Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Desire to work closely with all departments and geographies within the business.

  • Experience partnering closely with sales, operations, manufacturing and fulfillment teams.
  • Experience in either Software as a Service (SaaS), e-commerce subscription, consumer hardware or IoT businesses.
  • Mix of experience at both earlier stage and large established companies.
  • Familiarity with international accounting standards.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and optimize efficient accounting and system processes to ensure conformance with applicable policies, internal controls and US GAAP.
  • Support day-to-day department operations, including: general ledger accounting, revenue, cost and inventory accounting, payroll, disbursements, compliance, controls and processes.
  • Assist with the research of technical accounting issues and apply proper accounting treatment as required.
  • Support both month and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations, accrual schedules, and general journal entries.
  • Provide company leadership with timely information in order to drive effective and strategic decision making, and enable key company decisions.
  • Aid financial audits, tax and debt compliance PBCs and reporting requirements.
  • Proactively identify, develop, and drive process improvements that contribute to efficiency and scalability across the accounting organization, and optimize efficiencies in the accounting and reporting areas, including elimination or streamlining of manual or non-effective tasks.
  • Assist with documenting and updating accounting policies, procedures and processes.
  • Aid in the definition, monitoring, documentation and implementation of internal controls.
  • Perform special, ad-hoc projects in Accounting, Finance, and in support of growth initiatives as needed.
