About The Position

Our client, a growing and dynamic logistics and transportation company, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their expanding Accounting team. The Senior Accountant will be the go-to resource for all Fixed Assets Accounting activities, including asset capitalization, depreciation, and lease accounting. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the month-end close process, and ensuring compliance with GAAP. The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Accounting Manager with a dotted line to the Controller and will have the opportunity to gain broad exposure across the organization.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of accounting experience with a strong focus on Fixed Assets.
  • Hands-on experience with depreciation, asset tracking, and lease accounting.
  • Strong Excel and ERP system skills (SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite preferred).
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical mindset, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or CPA eligibility is preferred.
  • Combination of public accounting and private industry experience.
  • Background in logistics, transportation, or distribution is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the fixed asset subledger, including additions, disposals, transfers, and reconciliations.
  • Oversee lease accounting and ensure compliance with ASC 842.
  • Prepare monthly depreciation, amortization, and related journal entries.
  • Reconcile fixed asset and accumulated depreciation accounts monthly.
  • Partner with operations to track capital projects and asset life cycles.
  • Support internal and external audit requests related to fixed assets.
  • Assist with monthly and year-end close activities.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve fixed asset accounting processes.
  • Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis to support management and finance initiatives.
