About The Position

Senior Accountant Position Overview Our client seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to join our growing food manufacturing organization. This is a blended role combining financial accounting and financial analysis (FA), offering the opportunity to play a key role in financial reporting, operational analysis, and process improvement. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is eager to grow with the company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within manufacturing or food production
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Experience with cost accounting and inventory management strongly preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems a plus
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate financial information clearly
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activity
  • Produce accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Perform financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and cost analysis related to manufacturing operations
  • Partner with operations and leadership to provide insights on cost drivers, margins, and performance metrics
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis
  • Support inventory accounting, including standard costing, inventory reconciliations, and adjustments
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting processes
  • Assist with audits, including preparation of schedules and coordination with external auditors
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency across accounting and finance functions
  • Support special projects and ad hoc analysis as needed
