The Senior Accountant supports the operations in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The ideal candidate will be self-motivated individual, driven to produce quality work while meeting deadlines. This position involves general accounting, accounts receivable, and data analysis. The Senior Accountant will actively engage and collaborate with Senior Management and Financial Controller.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Business field preferred or equivalent work experience required
  • Three to Five years of experience in Accounting required
  • Clearances Required: Act 73 FBI, Act 34 Criminal Clearance, and Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance

Responsibilities

  • Maintain The Day School rosters, complete monthly revenue entries and associated cost calculation
  • Complete the monthly utilization of funds and distribute temporary restricted balances to leadership.
  • Maintains and reconcile the foster care workbook and other related schedules, enter monthly revenue into AR and monitor receivables aging.
  • Performs general ledger account reconciliations monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
  • Assists with annual budget development as needed
  • Prepare monthly Board Reports and Trending Reports
  • Maintain prepaid file amortization schedule creating and booking necessary journal entries.
  • Assists with the financial management of the Kids on the Block program or other Misc. programs
  • Assists with annual financial statement audit
  • Process accounts payable both vendor and employee in accordance with documented policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the transition of AP to an automated system.
  • Prepare documentation for external auditors
