The Senior Accountant coordinates, implements, and oversees complex accounting activities including journal entries, financial statements, account reconciliations, compliance with GAAP accounting, financial reporting requirements, and assistance with the budget process. This role involves training, teaching, and providing daily supervision to staff accountants, accounting specialists, accounting technicians, and accounting interns. The Senior Accountant is responsible for reviewing recorded journal entries and monthly financial statements to identify unusual or significant variances, ensuring financial statements are fairly stated. The position also involves completing more complex or judgmental accounting areas with oversight from an Accounting Manager and Accounting Director.
