About The Position

We’re seeking a forward-thinking Senior Accountant who operates like an internal consultant—someone who thrives in the details but naturally steps back to improve systems, workflows, and outcomes. This is not a “just close the books” role. You’ll own core accounting and reporting responsibilities while leading initiatives that modernize and scale our finance function. You’ll partner closely with cross-functional teams and senior leadership, ensuring our financial data is accurate, actionable, and built to support growth. If you see broken processes and instinctively want to redesign them, this role is for you.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience - Big 4 / Tech Startup is a plus
  • Strong GAAP foundation and comfort owning processes end-to-end
  • Demonstrated ability to build structure in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
  • Experience improving workflows through automation and systems thinking
  • Experience with tools such as Stripe, QuickBooks Online (QBO), Ramp, and Notion

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to sales/use tax and marketplace facilitator considerations is a strong plus
  • CPA preferred, but strong operators without a CPA are encouraged

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Own balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and detailed flux analysis
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of revenue recognition and payout reporting
  • Maintain and enhance internal reporting packages for senior leadership
  • Strengthen internal controls and documentation across accounting processes
  • Support audit readiness and financial review processes as needed
  • Compile client, revenue, and payout reporting with a high degree of accuracy and consistency
  • Reconcile data across systems (payments platforms, accounting systems, internal tools)
  • Investigate discrepancies and proactively resolve reporting issues
  • Improve visibility into key financial and operational metrics
  • Identify inefficiencies in accounting and finance workflows and proactively redesign them
  • Lead process improvement initiatives, including automation, system integrations, and documentation
  • Leverage AI and modern tools to enhance speed, accuracy, and decision-making
  • Build scalable, repeatable processes that support rapid growth without adding unnecessary complexity
  • Drive special projects from an ambiguous problem → structured solution
  • Partner with Sales, Operations, Product, and Client Success to align financial data with business activity
  • Act as a finance thought partner—digging into the “why” behind the numbers, not just reporting them
  • Help translate financial insights into clear, actionable recommendations
