About The Position

The Senior Accountant’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the
following:

Requirements

• BS or BA degree in accounting (CPA a plus)
• Understanding of GAAP accounting and financial principles
• Understanding of tax concepts and reporting requirements
• Competency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
• Sound written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work independently and with a team
• Strong analytical skills
• Attention to detail

Nice To Haves

• Exposure to upstream oil and gas accounting is preferred, including joint interest billing, Revenue, AFE’s, etc.
• Experience with oil and gas general ledger software (OGsys and DocVue Document Management) a plus

Responsibilities

• Processing and reviewing accounts payable invoices for accuracy and compliance with company policies
• Assisting in the preparation of 1099 reporting and filing with Federal and State agencies
• Management and reconciliation of company credit cards and expense reporting
• Reconciliation of general ledger account balances
• Preparation of financial statements
• Perform monthly balance sheet, income statement and changes in financial position/budget variance analyses
• Assisting in the preparation of budgets for review by management
• Maintenance and reconciliation of fixed assets schedules
• Provide ad hoc reporting as needed
