About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our accounting team at Southwest Mobile Storage. The Senior Accountant plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, at both transactional and analysis level.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP) and Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of the accounting team.
  • Must be able to work effectively with department co-workers as well as with members of other departments.
  • Must be able to interface professionally both inside and outside of the organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with multi-company/divisional financials; budgeting and job costing highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Support month-end close procedures by posting journal entries with appropriate backup and ensuring accounts are reconciled with appropriate support and in accordance with US GAAP principles.
  • Monthly Balance sheet reconciliations and transactional review including revenue and expense analysis.
  • Ensure proper recording of Fixed Asset depreciation, transfers, reclasses, and disposals.
  • Weekly cash reconciliation and cash-flow monitoring assistance.
  • Support and assist with reporting and compliance payroll, property, sales, and income tax filings.
  • Support and assist with AP, AR, and Cash management functions.
  • Update and maintain policies & procedure documentation.
  • Record accurate COGS entries.
  • Assist with coordination and responses to external auditors.
  • Lead special projects as needed.
  • Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all financial information
  • Perform other job-related duties as directed.
