About The Position

Cherry Bekaert Recruiting is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support key accounting functions, including maintaining the general ledger, ensuring strong internal controls, performing balance sheet reconciliations, managing month-end close activities, and supporting internal and external audits. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience (required)
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting
• Advanced Excel skills (required), including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis
• Experience with month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and analytical skills
• Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to ensure accurate financial records
• Perform and review balance sheet and account reconciliations on a monthly basis
• Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and accruals
• Assist with the development, documentation, and maintenance of internal controls
• Prepare schedules and provide support for internal and external audits
• Analyze financial data and identify variances or discrepancies
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support accounting and reporting initiatives
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
