About The Position

As a Senior/Staff Accountant at Fortis Games, you will support the financial operations for our rapidly scaling, global game company. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, payroll processing, and tax filings. This role will closely collaborate with the Finance team to support various accounting functions and contribute to the studio's overall financial health.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in mobile gaming revenue.
  • Experience with revenue recognition (ASC 606) in a free-to-play gaming environment.
  • 5 years+ of accounting experience.
  • Advanced understanding of accounting principles (IFRS and GAAP).
  • Fundamental understanding and familiarity with Google Workspace (Sheets) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel).
  • Experience with accounting and reporting software such as Workday, Adaptive Insights, SAP Ariba, and Looker.
  • Strong attention to detail and understanding of processes and policies.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to identify multiple paths to achieve outcomes.
  • Experience working on complex projects with multiple stakeholders, timelines, and budgets.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with demonstrated creative and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.

Nice To Haves

  • A CPA or Chartered Accountant is preferred but not essential.
  • Exposure to royalty accounting is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate revenue recognition in accordance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606) and company policies.
  • Support the month-end and year-end close processes related to revenue.
  • Ensure accurate, timely payroll processing in dedicated locations, in coordination with external and internal partners.
  • Manage invoicing and accounting activities for multiple international entities, ensuring compliance with local GAAP and statutory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and support audit processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and systems.
