About The Position
The Senior Accountant performs a variety of accounting related tasks to support the operations of the organization and the accounting department.
Requirements
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn accounting software.
- Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction to accomplish objectives
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Minimum three years of related experience
Nice To Haves
- Experience in the non-profit Health Care sector preferred
Responsibilities
- Prepares journal entries and posts to the general ledger
- Reviews and reconciles the general ledger and resolves any discrepancies
- Analyzes and reconciles the fixed asset, depreciation, prepaid and amortization schedules
- Prepares monthly and annual financial statements for management and board review
- Performs variance analysis of accounts on a monthly and annual basis
- Assists in the completion of PBC lists
- Involved in the month and year-end close, by preparing and posting monthly entries and year-end journal entries to include revenue and expense accruals
- Assists in the preparation of quarterly and annual reports for medical facilities
- Prepares Annual Cost Reports
- Performs other duties as assigned
