SUMMARY Responsible for reconciling general ledger accounts and consolidating journal entries. Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports. Creates financial statements, provides financial reporting, develops quarterly forecasts, and supports the annual budgeting process. Hybrid schedule, in-office on Wednesday. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Reconciles various general ledger accounts each month, including producer payable, carrier payable, inter-company accounts, etc., and identifies and resolves reconciling items;Prepares consolidating journal entries for monthly close;Prepares recurring and non-recurring journal entries as needed for the monthly close;Handles monthly bank reconciliation and various banking transactions;Individually conducts special research or investigation projects as assigned;Assists with compiling information for external auditors and tax preparers;Assists the Accounting Manager and Controller as necessary;Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION / EXPERIENCEBachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experienceThree (3) or more years of staff-level accounting experience, preferably in auditing, public accounting, or the insurance industry, requiredProven knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, with emphasis on intercompany accountingWorking knowledge of Hyperion, or other consolidation software, preferredSKILLS Excellent verbal and written communication skills Transaction and account balance analysis skills Ability to create spreadsheets, file, and operate general office equipment Ability to work within a team and to foster teamwork Proficient in Microsoft Office products
