About The Position

We are searching for an experienced Senior Accountant who will work closely with the Accounting Manager and our entire accounting team in providing accounting support for job cost, financial, as well as inventory transactions and reporting. Activities require an understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles as well as application of accounting principles and practices. This individual must have the ability to work independently, as a member of a collaborative team, and be able to multi-task in a fast-paced office environment.

Requirements

  • Technical skills in account reconciliation, cost analysis and month-end closing report generation
  • advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • familiarity with accounting software is required
  • understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP.)
  • You are an experienced Accounting professional with a minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience, including significant experience with cost or project accounting, for a mid to large sized company, and you also hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

Nice To Haves

  • Accounting experience of 10 years or more, as well as a Graduate degree and CPA designation are highly preferred.
  • You are proficient in various Microsoft computer applications, specifically MS Excel, as well as ERP accounting software.
  • You are organized, detail-oriented, and highly analytic, as well as a master at multi-tasking and problem solving.
  • You have the ability and understanding to deal with issues that may be difficult, sensitive, and confidential in nature.
  • Your verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are exceptional, and you strive to be a team player at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Providing specialized or general calculations and analysis support in various accounting functions utilizing advanced knowledge and proficiency in accounting practices, principles and interrelationships for both management and outside agencies as required
  • supporting the month-end close process and assist with the preparation of various financial statements and statistical reports for management meetings
  • assisting with job cost analysis and monthly work-in-process schedule preparation
  • assisting with the monthly reconcilement of Company inventories, gaining an understanding of related inventory systems and interacting with other Company personnel as necessary
  • performing periodic reconciliation of other selected general ledger accounts, researching and resolving routine exceptions independently
  • assisting with the monthly update and maintenance of the fixed assets sub-ledger
  • participating in the development and implementation of new or revised accounting systems
  • providing technical advice and services to other staff members with problems, complex issues or special projects.
  • Assists with the coordination of annual audits/reviews including preparing audit/review schedules of assigned accounts and consolidated schedules.
  • Keeps informed by researching and evaluating appropriate professional and related legal literature as assigned.
  • Positive collaboration and interaction with associates, focusing on the achievement of Company goals and objectives through a commitment to teamwork.
  • Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
