About The Position

We are seeking a highly capable and motivated Senior Accountant to support the accounting and treasury functions across multiple businesses owned by our primary shareholder. This is a hands-on senior accounting role responsible for building and maintaining accurate accounting records across multiple entities, with opportunities for expanded responsibility as the portfolio grows. This individual will manage financial operations for several entities, coordinate with external tax and legal advisors, and ensure accurate and timely reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable operating in a dynamic environment with multiple business interests. As the portfolio continues to expand, we envision this role growing to include greater leadership responsibilities, potentially overseeing an internal accounting team and contributing to broader financial strategy.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to operate independently with sound judgment.
  • This role is eligible for a hybrid schedule. Up to one day per week may be worked remotely in accordance with the telecommuting policy.
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 510 years of progressive accounting experience, including work with multi-entity or family office structures.
  • Strong understanding of accrual accounting, consolidations, and intercompany activity.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Business Central Dynamics 365, QuickBooks, NetSuite, or Sage Intacct).

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or MBA preferred.
  • Experience with investment partnerships or private equity structures preferred.
  • Familiarity with investment subscription documents and capital calls preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations across multiple entities, ensuring accurate and timely financial data.
  • Prepare and maintain financial statements, reconciliations, and management reports.
  • Manage intercompany transactions, capital flows, and consolidated financial reporting.
  • Oversee treasury operations, including cash management, wire transfers, and investment funding.
  • Coordinate with attorneys and tax advisors on entity formation, compliance filings, and investment documentation.
  • Prepare and review subscription agreements and related investment paperwork.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of standardized accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting frameworks, in collaboration with the Controller.
  • Support audit and tax preparation, ensuring completeness and compliance across entities.
  • Identify and drive process automation and system improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support accounting for real estate and operating entities as they come online, including fixed assets, depreciation, and lease-related activity.
  • Lead communication and task coordination for annual audits.
  • Work closely with ownership and Basys leadership to provide financial insights, updates, and strategic support across entities.
  • Support financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
  • Support the onboarding and training of additional accounting resources and take on expanded responsibilities as appropriate.
  • Support departmental projects and initiatives associated with Basys, as needed.
  • Assist with core accounting functions at Basys during periods of lower external entity activity.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support overall organizational and financial objectives.
