The Senior Accountant plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the month-end close process, financial reporting, and audit processes for the organization. This position requires a solid understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments. Please Note: The range provided below encompasses a wide range of Bagel Brands roles. The specific salary range for this role is Department: Finance Base Salary Range: $85,000 to $100,000 annually Bonus: 10% annual incentive target This position is located in Denver, CO. Address: 1720 S. Bellaire Street, Skybox suite, Denver, CO 80222. Candidates should be comfortable working on-site 4 days per week as part of our collaborative team environment.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite experience a plus) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and evolving environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required; CPA or progress toward certification preferred.
  • 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a multi-entity or food and beverage environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a multi-location food and beverage or retail organization.
  • Experience implementing process improvements and system integrations.
  • Familiarity with inventory accounting and cost of goods sold (COGS).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries, monthly accruals, and account reconciliations.
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Analyze financial data and variances, providing insights to management.
  • Work alongside accounting team to ensure processes and controls are executed timely and accurately.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including intercompany transactions.
  • Partner with FP&A and other departments in supporting budget and forecast processes with accurate historical data.
  • Drive process improvements, automation, and system enhancements to increase efficiency.
  • Assist with audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests.
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and other departments to resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation to auditors.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.
