About The Position

Grand Pacific Resorts is seeking a hospitality professional to join their Accounting Department. The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciling subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. This role involves maintaining financial records, ensuring proper recording of financial transactions, and analyzing current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to predict future revenues and expenses. The Senior Accountant will also prepare complex balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports, and may supervise and guide lower-level accountants.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 5-7 years of accounting experience required
  • Must have strong financial competence
  • Must be able to perform in a highly confidential environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook & Accounting software programs
  • Great interpersonal, leadership and problem solving skills essential

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel preferred
  • Experience with property management/ POS software preferred

Responsibilities

  • Record all accounting related transactions to the general ledger.
  • Verify accuracy of entries to the general ledger and reconcile subsidiary ledger accounts.
  • Compile financial data in the preparation of balance sheets, profit & loss and other financial reports in a timely manner
  • Prepares and analyzes cash, revenue & expense forecasts
  • Recommend ways to reduce cost and enhance revenue
  • Assist in annual budget preparation
  • Reconcile bank accounts and other key accounts monthly
  • Review financial statements for accuracy and legal compliance
  • Prepare and file state and local sales & occupancy tax returns
  • Prepare documentation for external auditors
  • Assist the Accounting Manager/ Controller/ CFO in conducting additional research and reporting tasks as needed
  • Guide and assist staff accountants as needed
