About The Position

The Accountant will play a crucial role in overseeing the accounting processes and financial close cycles for ELG Canada Inc. and ELG Metals Corp. This position requires a detail-oriented professional who can maintain accurate records, prepare journal entries, and assist with various financial analyses and reporting.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting
Solid communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet required deadlines
Attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to prioritize and work independently
PC skills including Windows, Excel, Google Sheets (Advanced Excel/Google Sheets and Tagetik skills are a plus)

Nice To Haves

Manufacturing experience is a plus
Dynamic 365 experience a plus

Responsibilities

Responsible for the tracking of ELG Canada shipments, Forex Contracts etc
Review and monitoring of local accounting systems - Inventory / Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable
Assist Finance team as needed with wire/ACH processes
Assist Controller with special projects, business evaluations, system implementation as requested/directed
Monitoring Capital expenditures and Capital projects
Assist with Hermes credit insurance reporting
Sales & Use tax reporting
Track intercompany loan activity
Review and approve weekly ELG Canada wires
Other duties as needed
Prepare and post journal entries in conjunction with the month-end close process
Review all financial account reconciliations to ensure their timely completion and agreement with the general ledger and supporting ledgers.
Assist Controller in review of financial statements
Tagetik reporting, analysis and review
Supplemental and ancillary analysis and reporting
Capital Expenditure Status reporting
Account reconciliations
Assist with annual audit
Assist with the preparation and review of Budgets/Forecast.
