This position is responsible for overseeing Fraser's general ledger and financial reporting. The Senior Accountant ensures compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), maintains accurate and timely financial data, and supports the evolving financial needs of the organization. Additionally, this role mentors and trains accounting team members in general ledger management and financial statement preparation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field required.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in general ledger accounting required.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA, MBA and/or Master's degree preferred.
  • Previous experience with Realpage HUD property management system preferred.
  • Previous experience with Intacct accounting software packages preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage monthly financial close and reporting for Fraser and Independent Living/HUD programs.
  • Review general ledger activity, investigate uncleared balances, and recommend timely and accurate journal entries to resolve outstanding items.
  • Prepare and record monthly closing journal entries; identify and research unusual transactions to ensure accurate financial results.
  • Reconcile and/or review corporate bank accounts and employee benefit accounts.
  • Develop monthly balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow analyses.
  • Generate monthly financial performance reports for accounting leadership and general management.
  • Upload actual financial data to budgeting software and support the development of annual operating budgets and forecasts.
  • Assist with HUD contract renewals and related compliance processes for Independent Living communities.
