About The Position

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our JBS Imports team onsite at our Corporate office in Greeley, Colorado. JBS Imports is one of the largest meat importers in North America, handling approximately a quarter of all beef and smallstock shipments to the region. With sales offices across the US and Canada, we supply our customers with the finest beef, lamb, mutton, goat, veal, salmon, and pork products from JBS and 3rd party suppliers in Australia, Brazil, and other countries of origin in Europe, South America, and Oceania.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Knowledge of GAAP, financial statement structure, general ledger accounts, and a general knowledge of accounts payable and receivable processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of SAP, Business Intelligence, and BPC a plus
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, functions, etc.)
  • Ability to analyze data and general ledger accounts
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment requiring strong time-management skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Well organized, goal oriented, self-motivated, independent worker, detailed oriented, quick to learn new processes
  • Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation

Responsibilities

  • Prepare weekly forecast P&L and working capital reports
  • Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly reporting used to drive the business
  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations in a large, complex and fast-paced organization (prepaid expenses, expense allocations, intercompany balancing, related party reports, etc.)
  • Create and enter journal entries in SAP
  • Use SAP for inquiries, running reports, entering journal entries, creating and editing Business Intelligence reports
  • Month-end ledger closing process
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Maintain and reconcile inventory cost accruals
  • Reconcile third party inventory monthly
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly external reporting, including government filings
  • Streamline, automate and implement controls for the processes that the position oversees
