About The Position

The role of the senior revenue analyst is to ensure proper recognition of the company's revenue in accordance with US GAAP. This role will be responsible for applying US GAAP to revenue recognition, working closely with sales and contracts teams and providing guidance to the sales operations team. This position reports to the Senior Director of Revenue Assurance.

Requirements

  • 7+ years overall experience in accounting and finance
  • 3+ years experience in a software revenue recognition
  • Deep-level understanding/familiarity with new revenue standards (ASC 606)
  • BA or BS in Accounting
  • Prior Public Accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and the ability to apply the relevant guidance to the company
  • Experience working in a global multinational company with US GAAP reporting requirements
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel and Word skills (advanced Excel skills preferred)
  • Strong follow-up skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Great interpersonal skill, being able to work with various groups within the company
  • Excellent team player with strong work ethics
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently
  • Ability to appropriately manage confidential information
  • Ability to work under pressure with shortened deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Review contract drafts, which involves working with global sales team and legal/contracts team to determine and advise on any revenue recognition impact.
  • Review signed contracts for proper revenue recognition of revenue and provide oversight to sales operation teams who review and process contracts in Salesforce.
  • Apply US GAAP for revenue recognition which involves identification of non-standard revenue treatment, combination of contracts and allocation of revenue among various performance obligations.
  • Prepare revenue deal review documentation/package to support our review.
  • Perform standalone selling price ("SSP") testing for the company's performance obligations.
  • Ascertain company revenue recognition policies and internal controls are adhered to without exception.
  • Analyze results and perform flux analysis for revenue and deferred revenue balances.
  • Perform various account reconciliation for related revenue accounts (deferred revenue).
  • Prepare and enter revenue accounting entries in Costpoint.
  • Calculate and prepare gross down entries between unbilled and deferred.
  • Update and maintain desktop procedures for the revenue team processes.
  • Assist in purchase accounting activities for acquired entities and reconcile acquired assets and liabilities.
  • Work with internal and external auditors in addressing accounting issues and provide assistance in managing the interim and annual audits.
  • Assist senior director and senior manager with ad -hoc reports on an as-needed basis.
