About The Position

The Senior Accountant in Reinsurance Finance at AIG is responsible for overseeing the Domestic Intercompany business within the reinsurance finance controllership area. This role involves managing a global functional team, processing quarterly accounting entries, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The position requires collaboration with various teams to enhance operational efficiency and provide guidance on transformational activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in finance or related field.
• 3+ years of relevant accounting experience.
• Detailed knowledge of reinsurance including underwriting, claims, accounting, and finance processes.
• Experience in an insurance/reinsurance company is preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Technical and analytic expertise adaptable to current technologies.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience interacting with senior management and external stakeholders.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, decision-making, problem resolution, and organizational skills.
• Experience in process transformation and control improvement.

• Experience with financial data analysis and reporting in the insurance/reinsurance markets.

Responsibilities

• Process and review quarterly accounting entries.
• Prepare broker/reinsurer reporting including statements and bordereau.
• Conduct financial reporting (GAAP/STAT, FAS5, CECL, 10Q/K, Schedule F, etc.).
• Collaborate closely with controllership, actuarial, accounting, and reinsurance teams.
• Oversee internal and external reinsurance operationalization and financial booking.
• Manage specific reinsurance finance processes and associated controls.
• Adapt to a complex and fast-paced work environment.
• Provide guidance and recommendations for transformational activities.
