Join us as a Senior Accountant – Project Lead where you’ll play a key role in supporting our team and driving operational excellence. The Senior Accountant – Project Lead will play a critical role in supporting the Controller during a major financial system implementation while maintaining core accounting responsibilities. This position will serve as a key liaison between Accounting, IT, Operations and external implementation partners, ensuring data accuracy, process integrity, and a smooth transition from legacy systems to the new platform. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, systems-savvy, and comfortable balancing day-to-day accounting operations with project-based work.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in accounting or a related field required.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Hands-on experience with accounting systems or ERP platforms
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including advanced Excel skills
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Highly adaptable to various levels of complexities of people, processes, and systems
  • Systems-oriented mindset with strong analytical skills
  • Ability to translate accounting requirements into system functionality
  • Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical teams
  • Highly organized, proactive, and adaptable during change
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Financial System Implementation Support: Partner with the Controller to support the planning, execution, and rollout of a new leasing system (e.g., ERP, GL, or accounting platform)
  • Assist with system configuration, chart of accounts design, and mapping of legacy data to the new system
  • Ensure key accounting reports between the old and new systems are documented, validated, and reviewed regularly
  • Lead or support data validation, testing cycles (UAT), and reconciliation between old and new systems
  • Document accounting processes, workflows, and internal controls within the new system environment
  • Identify process improvements and automation opportunities enabled by the new system
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for accounting-related system functionality post-implementation
  • Support training efforts for accounting and finance users
  • Core Accounting Responsibilities: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts
  • Support financial reporting and analysis for management
  • Assist with audit preparation and respond to auditor requests
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and internal controls
  • Cross-Functional & Project Support: Collaborate with IT, operations, and external consultants to align system functionality with business needs
  • Assist in developing and maintaining documentation for policies, procedures, and controls
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as requested by the Controller
