About The Position

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Senior Accountant to play a key role in our finance team, ensuring accuracy in our financial operations and helping scale our accounting processes. You’ll thrive in this role if you are self-motivated but know when to ask questions, enjoy working collaboratively and being a key part of a team, have a keen eye for detail and are passionate about accurate financial reporting, want to improve processes and build scalable accounting systems, and are excited to be the go-to person for all things accounting at Bellhop. Please note: this is an hourly, part-time role. Hours will likely vary week to week, but we're looking for someone who can commit roughly 10 to 25 hours a week (25 is likely the very high end during month-end close). The hourly range for this role is $30 - $70 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Requirements

• 4+ years of accounting/finance experience (Big 4 or regional firm experience preferred).
• CPA preferred but not required.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (required).
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting standards, and intercompany transactions.
• Experience with accounting software (Ramp, Xero, or similar tools).
• Ability to analyze financial data and derive meaningful insights.
• Highly detail-oriented with a strong process-driven mindset.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with a bias for action.

Nice To Haves

• Experience using Xero, Ramp, and Stripe.
• Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills.
• A history of automating manual processes.
• A strong sense of ownership when it comes to your work and company performance.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including intercompany transactions, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and commissions/bonuses.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
• Support external audits, including preparing audit schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
• Oversee AR and AP functions, managing the tech stack, invoicing, collections, and vendor payments.
• Serve as the internal point person for finance-related inquiries.
• Monitor and manage company spending, ensuring alignment with budgets and policies.
• Assist with payroll planning and reporting; serve as a backup for payroll processing.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and international tax regulations, including sales tax and VAT.
• Manage corporate credit card transactions, employee reimbursements, and travel & expense systems.
• Collaborate with external accounting support, including tax advisors, and auditors.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and financial systems.
