About The Position

As a Manufacturing Senior Accountant at Idaho Forest Group , you will be a key member of our finance team, focusing on the financial operations and reporting specific to our manufacturing activities. Your role will involve overseeing the accounting processes related to inventory management, cost accounting, and production analysis. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, provide valuable insights into manufacturing performance, and contribute to the strategic decision-making process. The Manufacturing Senior Accountant will prepare monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and help prepare consolidated financial reports. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • 2+ y ears of relevant e xperience
  • Skills: Able to deal professionally, courteously, and tactfully with the public and coworkers .
  • Accurate and consistent attention to detail.
  • Ability to pass a hair follicle drug test , post-offer pre-employment physical, and background check .

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed monthly journal entries for logs and lumber inventory adjustments, adhering to close schedule and checklist.
  • Prepare month-end accrual journal entries.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly internal site profit and loss reporting, comparing actual results to budget and forecast.
  • Analyze budget/forecast to actual profit and loss variances, providing detailed variance explanations .
  • Generate monthly capital reporting, comparing budget and actual cost by project.
  • Assist with developing incremental cash flow comparisons for expansion capital projects .
  • Provide weekly production cost estimates, comparing estimates to budgets/ forecast .
  • Participate in weekly and monthly operations cost review meetings.
  • Quarterly, observe lumber and log cycle counts.
  • Partner with Finance Managers and Senior accounts to develop consistent manufacturing accounting processes and procedures.
  • Prepare government surveys and compliance reporting.
  • Assists with preparing annual budget and forecasts.
  • Other duties as needed .
