About The Position

The Senior Accountant in Financial Reporting at Delaware North will play a crucial role in supporting unit and subsidiary management with the monthly accounting close process, ensuring compliance with contractual reporting, and facilitating the annual external audit. This position is integral to maintaining accounting policies and financial reporting standards within the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or business-related curriculum with relevant prior accounting experience.
• Prefer 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
• Deep understanding of finance and accounting processes.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Expertise in driving continuous improvement and business process management.
• Strong computer skills, including MS Office, PeopleSoft Financials, OneStream or similar accounting software.
• Understanding of how to drive effective performance management.
• Facilitation, detailed collaboration, and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Execute strategies and standards related to accounting policy, financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, budgeting, and financial systems and controls.
• Support the management of the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes for the business.
• Assist management in troubleshooting unit accounting questions and suggest proper accounting treatments for new issues.
• Perform research and prepare documentation to support the annual external financial audit process.
• Collaborate with corporate departments to implement required changes to policies, procedures, and processes.
• Work with data owners/stewards to align on process and data issues.
