About The Position

The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial records. This position leads key accounting activities, including the preparation and review of journal entries, monthly account reconciliations, and management of intercompany transactions. The Senior Accountant collaborates closely with the Global Business Services (GBS) team and cross-functional partners to ensure offshore accounting activities are performed accurately and timely, and that all processes comply with internal controls and US GAAP. Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills are essential, as is a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement. This position will have a hybrid schedule of 3 times/week at either our Shelton, CT or St. Louis (Chesterfield), MO offices

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college.
  • 2–4 years of progressive accounting experience, with supervisory responsibilities preferred.
  • CPA certification preferred.
  • Big Four experience strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills, with demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data.
  • Comprehensive understanding of US GAAP and its practical application.

Nice To Haves

  • Proven experience in a US publicly listed company is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with advanced accounting software, including SAP S4 Hana, Blackline, and Hyperion, is a strong plus.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively mentor and collaborate with team members.
  • Organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Experience with intercompany accounting, multi-currency transactions, and financial analysis.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities to provide actionable insights.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all financial reporting activities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and review the preparation and posting of journal entries in compliance with company policies and US GAAP.
  • Collaborate with the Global Business Services (GBS) team to monitor and enhance the accuracy and timeliness of offshore accounting activities.
  • Provide leadership in managing intercompany transactions, ensuring balances align with GAAP and company policies.
  • Review and approve documentation for internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate responses to auditor inquiries.
  • Ensure robust compliance with internal controls, identifying gaps and implementing improvements as needed.
  • Analyze financial statements to provide insights into account fluctuations and support management decision-making.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of accounting operations.
