About The Position

The Senior Pharmacy Benefit Account Manager (AM) serves as the principle liaison with small to medium HealthTrust and CoreTrust PBM member companies. The AM establishes and maintains professional business relationships with member companies, their consulting teams, and the PBM supplier partner. The AD serves as a trusted advisor to the member(s) s/he supports, engaging member executives regularly ensuring the PBM supplier partner is delivering on all services in accordance with the contract. The AM has leadership responsibility to develop and maintain a robust account plan, and executing against that plan to identify opportunities for his/her accounts to improve operational and financial performance. The AM effectively gathers, analyzes, and interprets pharmacy-related data to present key opportunities to the member(s) s/he supports, as well as summarizing and presenting savings results and other key information to the member(s). The AM works to coordinate the PBM supplier resources to ensure that members are supported as effectively as possible, experiencing superior service that results in member loyalty and retention, as well as advocacy and promotion to prospective members. This position is office-based in Nashville, TN. Position may require up to 25% travel, including overnight travel.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of employee pharmacy benefits, PBM industry, and PBM supplier operations.
  • Strong analytic skills-- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel with the ability to use functions such as Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, etc.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Power BI.
  • Strong ability to analyze large datasets, identify patterns, and apply statistical methods.
  • Skill in creating dashboards and reports to communicate complex data insights effectively.
  • Ability to demonstrate financial knowledge and business acumen.
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills; able to present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization including the C-Suite.
  • Exceptional Project Management, communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to successfully manage multiple projects and timelines.
  • Passion for results-- able to drive high standards for self; tenaciously working to meet or exceed challenging goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts such as savings, rebates, fees, and percentages, as well as analyze statistical and financial data.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow with minimal direction.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Must demonstrate executive presence and emotional intelligence, remaining calm and confident in challenging situations.
  • Intimate understanding of all internal functions of both HealthTrust and the accounts assigned.
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to use independent judgment effectively.
  • Ability to execute, both independently and as a collaborate member of various teams and committees.
  • Ability to execute effectively without constant oversight, yet understanding when it is appropriate to consult with leadership.
  • Proficiency required in interpreting drug literature and clinical trial evaluation
  • Ability to reason and translate clinical information into a manner appropriate for clinical and non-clinical audiences
  • Comprehensive knowledge of formulary managed care systems, principles and practices
  • Accredited College Pharmacy Degree required
  • PharmD or RPh designation
  • Minimum 3+ years of strategic account management experience with a pharmacy benefit manager and/or a large employee benefit consulting firm with a focus on pharmacy benefit and/or a senior benefit professional at a large company
  • Project management experience
  • Experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI.
  • Registered pharmacist

Responsibilities

  • Formulates and leads as one point of contact for cross-business unit strategies and plans for member.
  • Meets member specific targets for contract performance, trend management, savings and strategic objectives.
  • Establishes productive, professional and consultative relationships with key benefit contact throughout member organization, building credibility and trust through collaboration.
  • Leads solution development efforts that best address customer needs, while coordinating the involvement of all necessary HealthTrust, Coalition Consultant and PBM supplier personnel.
  • Builds strategic partnerships with the member company and their consulting team to further advance the employee benefit strategic plan and company goals.
  • Establishes strong relationships with key internal Account Directors and Managers, and Clinical Resources within HealthTrust to become a trusted advisor
  • Gather and compile pharmacy-related data from various sources, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Apply statistical and analytical techniques to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in medication usage, patient outcomes, and costs.
  • Develop and deliver reports and dashboards to provide actionable insights and recommendations for improving pharmacy operations, medication management, and cost efficiency.
  • Provide client implementation support and guidance
  • Review and evaluate changes in formulary strategy including exclusions, tier changes, and utilization management updates
