The Senior Account Executive manages day-to-day client engagement and tactical project delivery across assigned accounts, ensuring outputs are accurate, timely, and strategically aligned. This role acts as the primary liaison between clients and internal teams for designated projects, oversees junior team member contributions, and ensures financial, operational, and quality objectives are met. Operating with increasing autonomy, the Senior Account Executive combines strategic insight with strong execution skills to deliver market access and communication solutions that meet client needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, advertising, life sciences, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a fast-paced agency environment, including at least 2 years in market access or healthcare communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multi-channel tactical projects from initiation to delivery.
  • Experience overseeing the work of junior team members, providing guidance and quality review.
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical marketing and market access principles, including familiarity with payer and provider audiences.
  • Proven ability to manage project budgets, timelines, and client communications effectively.
  • High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with project management platforms such as Kantata, Veeva, or similar preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Client Liaison: Serves as the day-to-day contact for assigned client workstreams, ensuring clear communication, accurate documentation, and proactive management of expectations.
  • Project Oversight: Manages the execution of tactical projects (e.g., non-personal promotion campaigns, pull-through communications, market performance reports) from initiation through delivery, ensuring alignment with client objectives and timelines.
  • Brief Development & QC: Drafts comprehensive project briefs and reviews work prepared by junior team members to ensure completeness, accuracy, and strategic fit.
  • Status & Reporting: Owns preparation and delivery of client status reports, meeting agendas, and contact reports, ensuring timely and accurate information flow.
  • Financial Tracking: Monitors budgets, prepares client-facing finance reports, and manages invoicing and project financials in Project Optimize.
  • Creative & Content Review: Reviews creative and copy for accuracy, compliance, and alignment with brand strategy, collaborating with medical writing and creative teams as needed.
  • Team Leadership: Provides day-to-day direction, feedback, and coaching to junior staff (Account Coordinators/Assistant Account Executives) to build capability and ensure high-quality work.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partners with project management, creative, and strategy teams to ensure seamless project execution and integration of market access insights.
  • Strategic Contribution: Contributes insights during client and internal meetings, supporting Account Directors in shaping tactical recommendations based on data, market trends, and client business priorities.
  • Quality & Compliance: Ensures all deliverables meet internal quality standards and comply with client and industry guidelines.
