The Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) is seeking to hire qualified candidates for the position of Senior Accessibility Analyst. This role involves performing complex professional and advisory functions in the Accessible Technology Compliance unit within the Bureau of Technology Management, supporting the Department of Human Services (DHS). The Senior Accessibility Analyst will serve as the lead technical analyst, working with lower-level staff and users to assess requirements and identify products that meet agency and state data processing environments, ensuring compliance with IITAA specifications. Responsibilities include developing position papers on researched products and providing specialized training on IITAA compliant products. The position requires maintaining close working relationships with users, members, and management within DoIT and across various agencies.

  • Serve as a Senior Accessibility Analyst for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) supporting the Department of Human Services (DHS).
  • Perform complex professional and advisory functions in the Accessible Technology Compliance Unit.
  • Act as lead technical analyst working with lower-level staff and users to assess requirements.
  • Identify products to meet requirements appropriate to agency and state data processing environments.
  • Ensure compliance with IITAA specifications.
  • Develop position papers relative to products researched.
  • Provide specialized training on IITAA compliant products evaluated and selected for implementation.
  • Stay current on new developments in the Information Technology field through continuing education.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.
  • Completion of four (4) years of college with coursework in computer science or directly related fields.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience in application services or a related Information Technology field.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience performing accessibility testing and quality assurance of information systems and software using IITAA, Section 508 or similar accessibility standards.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience performing complex research and analysis of hardware and software products to assess accessibility compliance.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience preparing and presenting technical documentation for stakeholders.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience providing technical support and guidance on accessible technology solutions.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience analyzing and diagnosing system issues related to accessibility.
  • Developed verbal and written communication skills to present complex technical information clearly.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and external vendors.
